Head of both Transcarpathian Art Foundation and Organizing Committee of “Silver Easel” contest Robert Brovdi was the today’s guest of TV programme “Morning on the Tisza”. He told about the idea and goal of the art project, which is taking place these days in Uzhhorod.

As it was previously reported, all-Ukrainian student contest in painting “Silver Easel” started in Uzhhorod on 18 October 2016. And yesterday the participants of this large-scale event were able to show their art talents reproducing the ancient city on the river Uzh on their canvases. “It was a bright day, as all the participants, who were gathered at the contest, scattered in Uzhgorod and painted their vision of our city. The main task was to paint a story, to find the place that will reveal something new about Uzhhorod. Given that the majority of students came to Uzhhorod for the first time, the day before the contest start we arranged for them two introduction programmes that allowed to find necessary locations and choose desired angles,” Robert Brovdi noted.

The contestants could be found in the most unexpected places of the regional centre. The photos of the creative process of painting have been already posted on Facebook page of the Transcarpathian Art Foundation. Today, the participants went outside the city to one of the picturesque places of Transcarpathia – Nevytskyi Castle for the second contest stage “Landscape”. “During the plain-air at the castle we prepared and offered the participants 16 locations where they were left alone with nature and chose the best perspectives,” – Head of the contest Organizing Committee informed.

According to Robert Brovdi, tomorrow, 21 October, you can see the result of the contestants work on the stages “Cityscape” and “Landscape” as well as watch the deciding task – painting of portraits. “Everything will take place in the atrium of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. All contestants will paint the portrait of 5 models at the same time. This is very impressive and spectacular. And everyone can watch the process,” he announced. At the end of the TV programme, Robert Brovdi noted that “Silver Easel” contest is only the first step in large-scale concept on Transcarpathian art development, which was matured for many years and the implementation of which was finally started.”
