Gergo Bankuti (Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Budapest) became a true discovery of the "Silver Easel"! He became the winner in the nominations "Cityscape" and "Improvisation". He also received the special prizes from the design studio Sergey Makhno Architects, a gallery of the contemporary art Voloshyn Gallery, and the curator of art projects Igor Abramovych. We asked Gergo how his participation in the contest influenced his life. And now we are happy to share his reviews with our readers.

"After the contest, I became more confident in myself, I realized that it is cool to participate in national and international contests! "Silver Easel" inspired me greatly!

During the contest, I worked in the same style as always. However, I had a good opportunity to practice in a hyper-realistic representation of the subject with help of trompe-l'œil. I used it earlier in some of my works. The point is the optical illusion – to portray a thing in such a way that a person thinks that it is not painted, but a real object. I'm absolutely open to innovation and not afraid to experiment! I think "Silver Easel" helped me to reveal myself," Gergo told us.
