"Silver Easel" is a good opportunity to test yourself for maturity, thinking, and feel the competitive environment," says Anton Kovach. Here it was created the atmosphere of creativity where strong creative individuals can develop - to see how their colleagues from other painting schools work. I envy them because I'm not 20, and I have no such opportunity. However, I always encourage my students to take part in various contests."

"This contest popularizes art even among the people who’ve never spoken about it!"

According to the artist, thanks to the "Silver Easel", even an ordinary person has the opportunity to expand the limits of their own consciousness, to touch the art: "This contest promotes art even among the people who have never spoken about it, it extends the understanding of art and clearly has a positive effect on consciousness! At the same time, it is a good focus for children who dream of becoming artists, because contests are beneficial – both in sport and art."

Anton Kovach points out the importance of the contest as a platform for the experience exchange: "I think all jury members know how different are the schools of painting. Representatives of Kharkiv and Kyiv are more involved in conveying the object, space, and character. Other schools, especially in western Ukraine, are working in the decorative plane. And people from Odesa are emotionally different – both mentally and in art. The Transcarpathians always vary in colouring, lightness, transparency. All of them are interesting, so it's very difficult to evaluate and choose the best!"

"The participants got a lot of experience - they saw the way other student worked, communicated with experienced artists."

The expert is delighted with the results presented by young artists on the final day: “An important factor is an idea, thinking and concise means of expression. Now, I like both the academic level and thinking, especially in improvisation, as well as the participants' vision of colour and composition. In my opinion, the most difficult thing to do was improvisation: at first glance, a participant has a lot of freedom in choosing the interpretation, and on the other hand, the short run does not allow experiment a lot. First of all, the participants were looking for some kind of the creative interesting idea. There were very original approaches. It feels like young people want to think in a new way. But as to the self-portrait, it became a surprise for me. As a result, I saw quite interesting painting solutions. Especially when students depict themselves not in real images, but in literary, grotesque ones. I like it."

"Compared with the previous contests, the work of the participants changed. They became more interesting, the artist analyses. I’m also excited about the jury composition – well-known authoritative people, thanks to which, undoubtedly, the prestige of the "Silver Easel" grows as well. The participants got a lot of experience - they saw the way other student worked, communicated with experienced artists. As a result, they demonstrated an amazingly high level of painting in different genres. The attitude of the organizers to the contest is extremely delicate, it is clear that everything is done with love, Thus, this is a promising event, the contest will definitely grow and develop!"
