Igor Abramovych, a curator of art projects, advisor to the Directorate of the Modern Art Research Institute of NAAU, consultant on Ukrainian contemporary art and the formation of art collections in Ukraine, joined the contest not for the first time, since, as he himself said, "Silver Easel" creates a history of contemporary art. The Uzhhorod student contest is known not only in Ukraine, but also far beyond its borders. So, what impression does "Silver Easel" itself leave?

"I am full of enthusiasm, “Silver Easel” forever! – Igor Abramovych commented, without suppressing his emotions. When a certain event takes place annually, it is improved: the selection criteria become more stringent, tasks, approach, and composition of the jury are changed. Now freedom of creativity is visible not only in improvisation, but even in portraits. Young people believe in themselves, listen to their own self ", Igor Abramovych notes. In the curator’s opinion, the innovations were a true decision: "To improve the nomination "Portrait" by self-portrait – perfect solution. In my opinion, this is a very creative and cool approach. It is very interesting to look at the acceptance of the artist himself. Top mark to the organizers! To determine the place of "Cityscape" performing by drawing of lots was also very cool. As it was involved two towns, and the artist wants to move, burst of emotions. I am very pleased with everything! Well done! I take off my hat."

As the curator told during the performance of one of the competitive stages, he was looking for the idea in the works - "... not just something painted or repeated, but the philosophy of what the artist does."

"However, choosing the best works was not an easy task. The partner of the contest admitted that he brought to Uzhhorod only one gift, but still during the preliminary review of the works he realized: he will not be limited to one prize-winner. "When choosing winners, we do not know who the author is - this is important because it adds objectivity. At the contest, I chose works with my heart, thus I was happy with the result. This time it was even harder to choose. You look - and want to give a prize to almost everyone. I'm glad we have such nice young people. There are very interesting conceptual works. Thanks to it you feel: we are alive."

According to I. Abramovych, "Silver Easel" is well-known not only in Europe, but even in America. "We showed and talked about the contest in Chicago and New York," Igor Abramovych says. - They liked the idea, they were surprised that this was happening here, and they would like to see it with their own eyes. "Silver Easel" clearly demonstrated, that we can declare ourselves to the world. Now Ukraine is on the crest of the wave, they are talking about us. And, I constantly emphasize: "We are from Ukraine" - not from the Soviet Union, not from Russia. We have our own country, which has its talents."

"Even if you did not win, the important thing is to take part. You have already been noticed. You need to believe in yourself and not look back. Any defeat gives an impetus to victory," the curator advises.
