The gallery owners Max and Julia Voloshyn presented the projects of two artists on different stages: a solo project by Mykhailo Deyak Space and Genesis, as well as a video project of the young Lviv artist Volodymyr Kohut entitled Artificial intelligence – Mimicry. The latter, by the way, participated in the Student Contest in Painting "Silver Easel".

The solo project of Mykhailo Deyak covers two series of works created especially for VOLTA - Space and Genesis in which he seeks to open the theme of the Space and a Man.

For the VOLTA Video Wall programme, Volodymyr Kohut prepared a video project Artificial intelligence – Mimicry. It reveals the artist’s reflections on the subsequent development of a person and humanity, on the times when passive co-existence with technological progress would turn a person into a statistical data sample, and finally destroy a chance to the independent existence of a man as a supreme creation.

"We are amazed by the opening and level of the fair in general! Despite the weather and storm in New York, a lot of art lovers came here, and what is more important, the audience was keenly interested in the solo project of Mykhailo Deyak and video work by Volodymyr Kohut!

The distinctive feature of VOLTA art show is its focus on artists’ solo projects. Thus, expositions in each booth are integral, one can say "museum ones", more conceptual. Such an approach allows to profoundly reveal the creativity of an artist", the founders of Voloshyn Gallery Max and Julia Voloshyn told ArtsLooker.

The VOLTA fair was founded in Basel in 2005, debuting in New York as VOLTA NY in 2008. The art show specializes in solo projects, emphasizing its motto "global vision - solo focus". This year it is held for the eleventh time, hosting 85 galleries from four continents and 48 countries with their relevant cross-section of the world contemporary art.
