Ukrainian art – to the European audience: in June 2018, the participant of “Silver Easel” (in spring 2017) Valentyna Vaskialite presented her paintings at the Theatre Gallery of Alytus (Lithuania). A young artist joined the collective exhibition together with the artists from Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and Russia.

This exposition is a continuation of the project “Art unites the countries”, within which the organizers initiated the exhibition “From the Baltic to the Buh” with the participation of the Ukrainian and Lithuanian artists. Thus, they decided to make the exposition even larger. Interestingly, the organizers plan to visit Ukraine and present the exhibition in Kremenchuh, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, and Uzhhorod.

Valentyna Vaskialite presented 7 paintings created in oil. Basically, these are landscapes in the style of expressionism, performed in different periods of a year. “I often go to plein airs,” Valentyna admitted. “I like creating landscapes, it seems to me that with their help I can better depict the mood of what I saw and felt at that particular moment. I really want to depict the Ukrainian nature exactly as it is now. After all, there’s no way of knowing that our descendants will see it as it’s now.”

Talking about her creativity, Valentyna says that she loves to create in the style of expressionism. “I am a very impulsive and emotional person,” a young artist said. “There’s no other style for me. After all, expressionism does not seek to reproduce reality, but to express the author's emotional state.”

Valentyna adds that she found the words of the famous Ukrainian artist, a jury member of “Silver Easel” Anatoly Kryvolap to be close to her: “A painter feels and reacts with help of colours, their combinations are the nerve cells that create feelings.”

By the way, she often recalls the “Silver Easel” contest with warmth. “These are new impressions, experience, new acquaintances, and it's incredibly useful,” Valentyna summarized.

Soon a talented girl will present her creativity within the project in Uzhhorod, thus, she invites all the art admirers to see it.
