From the early morning Uzhhorod started meeting the participants of the Open Student Contest in Painting "Silver Easel" – talented students came to the capital of Transcarpathia from the different parts of Ukraine. Contestants from Belarus, Poland, and Hungary also arrived there.

Upon check-in at the hotel and registration, the young boys and girls exchanged the received gift certificates for art accessories and paints in "Creative" salon and then went to the excursions around the city planned by the organizers. The first thing waiting for the students was the exhibition of works by participants of the previous two contests, held in the historical and cultural centre "Owl Nest". It was here that the contestants could plunge into the atmosphere of the creative competition and get inspiration. "The works are simply incredible. They are really worth seeing here, in the gallery. Thanks to this, I realized what a high art level is here," Andrii Chyzhov from Lviv shared his impressions.

The next stop – opportunity to see the unique sculptures at the only Uzhhorod studio of the art couple Andrii and Olesia Voznytski. After that, the full of impressions participants went to the official opening ceremony of the "Silver Easel" to "Panorama" Club.

The participants and guests were greeted with the official opening by the contest’s founders Robert and Nataliya Brovdi. They noted that all present participants are already the winners because they passed a thorough selection of the Expert Council and had the opportunity to come to Uzhhorod and take part in the contest. And, it is necessary to do one’s best, as "Silver Easel" is a launching platform for every young artist. "You have a chance to make a huge step in your development and promotion, as the well-known Ukrainian art dealers will come here. There will be reputable critics and curators who will not only advise you but also invite the best of you to take part in their own projects," Robert Brovdi noted. A unique opportunity to get acquainted with people who create contemporary Ukrainian art is waiting for you." Nataliya Brovdi, in her turn, added her sincere advice: "Do what you feel and what your heart tells you. Get inspired by your creativity. And, feel what surrounds you. Congratulations on the contest opening!"

Famous artists and art critics Volodymyr Mykyta, Anton Kovach, Oksana Havrosh, Andrii Kartashov also addressed their wishes and instructions to the contestants.

Thus, with the release of hundreds of coloured balloons with lights in the starry sky of Uzhhorod, the contest officially started. Welcome the “Silver Easel”!
