"This event is important, worthy and unique for Ukraine," said the well-known Ukrainian artist Taras Tabaka, who for the first time joined the Jury of the "Silver Easel." He shared his opinion about the contest and its benefits with us.

According to the artist, such a student contest is extremely necessary, nevertheless, "... it must be as diverse as we see it today: young artists face different tasks and everyone is looking for his own unique solution."

Taras Tabaka is sure that the contest offers a special atmosphere that promotes the stretch of the imagination, isn’t it the key to success? "It's very nice when young people have the opportunity to test themselves, to participate in something significant. Victory is less important, than set tasks, received emotions and atmosphere of creativity, aspiration – all this is typical for the "Silver Easel".

Artist considers the contest task “Improvisation” extremely interesting, which made the contest even brighter, gave the participants the opportunity to express themselves, to say something they kept quiet about for a long time. "The task of improvisation is to get free of academicism and let the thought go. Improvisation is more difficult in the analytical sense because you need to express your emotions without words. But one succeeds to create the best things facing the challenge of limited time at his disposal when one has to pull himself together, accumulate his strengths and create something – it's a very valuable experience of operational work, pursuance of those pragmatic tasks that life sets us."

“Victory is less important, than set tasks, received emotions and atmosphere of creativity, aspiration – all this is typical for the "Silver Easel"!”

It is always difficult to choose the best of the best, especially when participants demonstrate a significant professional training. Taras notes: "I am pleased with the level of professional training of the participants as well as with the enthusiasm of performing the works: it feels that they have done their best and enjoyed the process – this is the most important. And if sometimes I lacked the freedom of thought in improvisation, the portrait, on the contrary, I think, sounded like improvisation – a self-portrait was a very good decision, which the participants took creatively and freely. Complications and unexpected questions put the author in the extraordinary situation, they force to look for an interesting way out. There is a feeling of relaxing, relief, there is no fear of being misunderstood, so the contestants are showing their inner self more deeply."
