Yurii Kopanskyi – a student of the National Academy of Fine Arts, Kyiv – became a prize-winner in the nomination "Cityscape". For the young man, art is a self-expression, and during the performance of the first competitive task, in the opinion of the Jury, he managed to do his best. We asked Yurii about his emotions while working during the contest.

"It is interesting that it started raining in Khust during the performance of this task. I cheated a little - when it started raining, I asked people to come into their apartment and paint on their balcony. I was met very hospitably. Furthermore: drops of water on the canvas created an interesting shabby effect", recalls a young artist. Perhaps this decision was the key to Yurii's victory.

After contest completion, the boy started to work more freely: "The fact that I began to experiment more in art is the result, in particular, of the meetings-lectures with Sergei Sviatchenko and Pavlo Kerestey".

Yurii Kopanskyi says: "This contest is a great opportunity to take part in the formation of contemporary Ukrainian art. I have not found my own style yet. Still, "Silver Easel" has greatly influenced its formation."
